The People

Hot Shots Java Coffeehouse is locally owned and operated by David & LeAnne Musgrove. Opening our doors for business in downtown Poulsbo in October 2003, our vision has always been to be a warm and welcoming place in the community where we live.

Along with our staff of eight, we continually strive to offer the highest quality products and service.

The Coffee

We offer organic, fair trade, and shade grown coffee–a great pairing with our Monin syrups and Ghiradelli chocolate sauces! We search out suppliers in our area to keep our dollars local.

Awards

In 2008, Hot Shots Java won the first annual “Best of North Kitsap” for Coffee shop/Espresso, and A.J., (our manager and oldest son) took the # 1 barista title. In 2009, Hot Shots Java again took the title for best coffeeshop and espresso.  Unexpectedly, we also won all three best barista spots: AJ, Elisa, and Hayley. In 2010, we won Best Coffee Shop and Espresso again!   Elisa took first place as best barista and AJ took second place best barista.   We also consistently place in ‘best customer service’ and ‘best meeting place’ every year.  We are very proud of our awards, as it was the people that voted for us through the North Kitsap Herald, Kingston Community News, and local chambers of commerce.  Thank you to all who voted for and supported us!

The Community

We are dedicated to serving our community and giving back. In the summer of 2009, we became the first American coffee shop to offer eco-friendly pasta stir sticks.  The fishbowl inside Hot Shots collects donations for local causes. Donate one dollar, get a bag of goldfish crackers; 100% of proceeds are donated.  In October of 2010 we began serving a selection of delicious, locally-baked Gluten-Free pastries.
